Microsoft Picture Program

Hi

Grab yourself XnView and it should be able to open Picture It (.mix) files and you can then save them as jpg

 

Try this;
1. Insert .MIX pictures into WORD documents and then save that document (using Save As) as a WEB PAGE.
2. This will create a folder which contains the picture as a .JPG image.
3. Copy/paste that .JPG file to your picture folder.
which I stumbled across looking for some sort of converter.
I'll still keep looking to see if a converter is available.

I also found this:

If you have any friends who have the above software installed, take one .mix file on a jump drive or email it and see if that person can open it and save it as a jpg.

 

This software is a discontinued line but it is a 30 day trial

apparently, from reading a post from a moderator on the microsoft forum site, this software should be able to open .mix files.

I don't know if you can get this to install.
Before installing, download and install Revo Uninstaller. If the software doesn't install or does and works and then you want it completely gone, Revo Uninstaller will remove it.

 

Maybe if you post a new thread along the lines "Does anyone have Picture It! installed and would be willing to open some pictures and convert to jpeg, you will find some people willing to help."

Or, find a friend not running IE8 and willing to install Picture It! on his/her computer so you can use that computer to convert your pictures.

Sorry for the late reply, busy as hell in real life. BUT I do have Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9 that can open as far as I know .mix files as its a format listed in the Open Files dialogue box, I would be willing to try one to start with and see if it can open and save it to JPEG.

Or just found that a link to an older trial of Digital Image 2006 is still available HERE, its a 60 day trial but should allow you plenty of time to convert your images. *note I have not installed the app as it wont work with my Windows 7 x64, but the download link is live as of this post.

OR Just zip file one up and attach, if it wont attach due to size, then let me know and I will give you an alternate way to contact me.
