    Hi all,
MSE states that it's at risk whenever I log on to my computer.
I've recently dealt with a virus problem that kaspersky apparently took care of a few days ago.
But today I came across redirecting ads on firefox, despite having ad block plus.
Even while on safe mode with networking I had to deal with this.
Whenever I try to use malwarebytes without networking, it says its missing/corrupt.
On top of that, mse fails to work. Now I'm on my phone typing this out.
I took the liberty of attaching a farbar recovery scan tool result that I just got from following a similar thread on the MSE problem.
Help on eliminating this zero access infection would be appreciated.

We need some additional information so that we can replace an infected system file.
Boot to System Recovery Options and run FRST again.
Type the below bolded text in the edit box after "Search:".
    services.exe
    Then click the Search button.
It will make a log (Search.txt) on the flash drive. Please attach this log to your next reply.

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.

    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST.exe on your flash drive.

Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now boot into normal Windows can continue with the below.

    Running MGTools.

I tried rebooting into normal windows but encountered the BSOD yet again.
Attached is the fix log I got after fixing and before facing the screen again.

For some reason, I also clicked on startup repair since it gave me that option or to startup and face the bsod again, and it has automatically "fixed" some of my computer, as it states. Will you need another scan log?

Just to be sure, download and run MGtools. Save it to your root folder ( typically the C: drive). Run the exe and attach the C:\MGLogs.zip.

    Here's the zip.

MGLogs.zip was incomplete. Please run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Make sure you wait until it says it is finished. Then Attach the new log.

    Ran as admin.

Please attach the new Fixlist log as well as the new C:\MGLogs.zip.

Tell me what issues are remaining.

The pc seems to work (my desktop was loaded up), but my MSE isn't working; it states that my pc is at risk.
Is there any download I can run from a usb that could update/fix my MSE? Last time my computer seemed to work (after running kaspersky), I ran into an ad that constantly bugged my browser, despite having adblock.

Just uninstall MSE, run CCleaner and then re-install it. ;)

Alright, so I've reinstalled+ran MSE and it seems to be working fine, along with the rest of my computer. Thank you for your help!

Good to know. And you are most welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
