ah ok, the link is fine but I get what you mean the version number has changed, the linked Microsoft Windows Defender 1.1.1347 Beta 2 is the latest version and works well, so I would get that updates version.

Thanks for catching this. The version number indicated in the link is incorrect but the link itself does go to the current correct version of the software.

 

I have no problem downloading from the Authors link and neither have about 50 other people today. Try again.

 

Perhaps you need to refresh your page! I have tried it multiple times from multiple PCs and have no problem downloading it from the link at MGs which is just a link to Microsoft's Download Center where you got it from.

Cheers for this Boneyeye, like Chas I have now tested that link on 6 different PCs and all work fine so it would be handy to know why you get that error.

another thing to try is to delete your temp internet folder and cookies and see if it resolves the problem, sometimes a rogue temp file or cookie can hinder sometimes.
