    hey!

i have windows xp sp2 and i can't use the "search" for folders and drives, etc

if i press it inside explorer it does nothing, and if i select it from the start menu i also don't get anything

i edited my registery today so it must be because of that, but i have no back up

what can i do? do i have to re-install microsoft windows again???

    thanks!!!

Before we get drastic ....put your xp disc in the drive ...exit out when it starts up ...then go to run and type sfc /scannow ....see if that helps (otherwise may have to do a repair install.)

thanks for your help but i have a nlite install with no internet explorer and with almost no compenents, /scannow does nothing and i think the only fix would be re-install or is there a search software that replaces the windows search?
