My Document folders contain 5 to 6 copies on files that I can't delete. When I try they copy themselves. All of them begin will ~$ and part of the name of the original file name. What are they and how can I get rid of them?

What operating system are you using ?
What version of Word are you using ?
Using "Always create backup copy" feature in word ?
Using "Save AutoRecover info" feature in word ?
Is Word (Or other office-tools) running while you are trying to delete the file ?

More info about the temporary files Word creates:
