Rules to Live By

Sometimes we need to remember WHAT the Rules of life really are.

1. Never give yourself a haircut after three alcoholic beverages
of any kind.

2. You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

3. The five most essential words for a healthy, vital
relationship are "I apologize" and "You are right".

4. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

5. When you make a mistake, make amends immediately.
It's easier to eat crow while it's still warm.

6. The only really good advice that your mother ever gave you
was: "Go! You might meet somebody!"

7. If he/she says that you are too good for him/her –
believe them.

8. Learn to pick your battles. Ask yourself,
“Will this matter one year from now?”
How about one month?
One week?
One day?

9. Never pass up an opportunity to pee.

10. If you woke up breathing, congratulations!
You have another chance!

11. Living well really is the best revenge.
Being miserable because of a bad or former relationship just
might mean that the other person was right about you.

12. Work is good, but it's not that important.

13. And finally, be really nice to your friends and family.
You never know when you are going to need them to empty your
bedpan.

 

I learned something about WD-40 a few years ago……it’s not what you think………WD-40, is Water Displacement schedule 40….which means it took them 40 experiments to get it right……….then, WD-40 is a spray on coating then repels water, you can spray on tools to keep the rust from forming……..a by product, that it does, it attracts dirt……..it also a solvent, it will clean grease off of your hands, and many other places……….sure you can use it to keep the door hinges from squeaking, but in two or three weeks, you’ll start seeing a built up of dust and dirt……..wobbles……..


…….and I won’t even get into duct tape……

 

OMG .... I love duct tape. I make sure I have a large supply of the stuff at home. I find it has so many uses. It's even good when your putting away left overs and the lid to your container doesn't want to stay on for you (stupid pop tops).

 

Solvents are not really good hand cleaners in that they will penetrate your skin and head for your liver. If you need to clean grease or dirty oil (which you should also not contact) from your hands, use laundry soap.

 

Mm, some yes, some no. I wouldn't wash my hands in MEK, but WD40 is pretty mild.

Somebody should have told my dad that. I started rebuilding automotive & truck starters, generators and alternators with him when I was 15. Greasy/oily hands are a way of life for auto mechanics and rebuilders. Was always getting small nicks and cuts while greasy, never had time to run & clean them out, and never had any problem with infections from them.

 

my liver ??? just wash my hands with michelob light !!!!!

 

When I was a mechanic we just used soap and had a tub of sand to dip into,worked great!

 

In England we used swarfega, but it is expensive, so soap and a handful of sugar work great too

 

salt and vegetable oil works great too!

 

Mmmm...maybe add a little freshly ground pepper and bake at 425F for 30 minutes and you have a meal for after the job's done
