Maybe a coincidence, but after downloading 56 critical Windows XP & Office updates I've experienced occassional "runtime errors & "mim errors". I'll put an attachment here. I'll send 1 report to Microsoft on it & that's all. I was in the process of defrag an external drive and Diskeeper Pro 10 said the drive was heavily fragmented. Instructions help you match the Master File Table to it's paging files. The process works fine except today when I get the runtime error screen. Is there a missing or corrupt .dll file envolved here? Also...the "manage attachment" will not call the browser to upload my attachement for some reason...always worked before, so I could get the attach in here. Thankyou......

mim has to do with musicmatch jukebox ....don't know why that error would report ..however ...go to control panel / admin tools / event viewer and look for recent errors in both system and applications ...give us the error codes or look them up at http://www.eventid.net

(.com Domain Names Dropping 05/07/06 Tribalfision.com) Tim...thanks for the reply. I still can't get the manage attachments to open so that I can post the error logs. In the Privacy Tab in I.E. show major geeks as a restricted site for some reason & that cookies were blocked. I'm looking into why this setting is there. If you have anything that's comes to your mind quickly, pls let me know...meanwhile I'm checking & will get back.

TimW...sometime today as your time permits...take a look at what I pulled of the event viewer log for recent errors in both system and applications. The Event error log cites the following with...application hangs, MsiInstaller, & WinVNC. The warnings with the yellow triangle w/exclaimation mark embedded cite these with...Automatic Live Update & multiple warnings with...MsiInstaller.

The system error log cites the following with...side-by-side,service control Ma...,& Warnings with dhcp,ftdisk,ntfs,sbp2 port & with Tcpip. Can you tell me what these are & my level of concern?

My security levels are at the default & are ok.

Also...what do you suggest when the "manage attachments" window fails to open so that I can insert an attachment? I could the other day.

TimW...I did get into the Event ID link & it did explain what I needed to know as to why event errors were occurring. Didn't want you to go to "general quarters" explaining ti to me when I can now do it. So much thanks for that valuable link!

However...I'm reluctant to load all 56 critical updates anymore. Even back in the old win 98 days some of the critical updates crashed the computer with strange problems.:)

Glad you got it worked out ...I allow auto updates to download but notify me so I can choose custom install and only install security updates ....and make a restore point prior to the update ...just in case.:)
