Umm can someone help me with it? Someone told me it was good for dling stuff. Like, I went to list channels and theres so many and yea, and theres a txt file u need t olist em, is there more channels and how do u send files and... yea...

But it's kinda hard to use thou. It's supposed to be better then kazaa for big files if you can find some people.

 

Just beacuse you're using mIRC many people will mock you FYI, it's gone to the kiddies, for the channels, yeah, /help dcc... Maybe searching google?

Beware of IRC. It is very close to the seedy underbelly of the Internet thanks to the proliferation of software piracy there.

 

Yep. IRC can be scarey, but there's good people out there too (just like in the world). If you're a rookie at it then try newbie channels like: #beginners. It's a pretty protected environment and the people there can answer any mIRC-IRC questions you might have. It's a helpful place to start.
Tips: Until you get your feet under you, just watch the text in the channel. You'll get the idea. Biggest nono: DO NOT accept anything in the way of files, scripts, web sites or funny looking texts from anyone (especially in private -- ie.DCC -- messages) EVER.
IRC ain't what it used to be, but it can still be pretty fun if you find the right group of people to hang with.

 

Stay off of EF/DAL net and you'll have a MUUUCH better expeirence, EF/DAL net has completely lost all moderation, so I'd just go on irc.freenode.net and stay their first. Also check your scripts are secure, I read somewhere about unsecure scripts, If I find it I'll post it.
