School is going great :D Physics is a blast, particularly when you can sidetrack and the teacher is willing to talk about much more advanced stuff (quantum mechanics is a favourite of mine ;) ).

Plus, now I've got my own laptop I can sit in the common room, heh. I'm working on getting a wireless access point in the common room, heh :D

FRAZZLED! *BIG HUGS* It's SO great to see you gracing us with your presence once again. Have really missed you and thought of you often. And stop apologizing or I'll smack ya! lol Seriously, you have nothing to apologize for...after being deployed and then being lucky enough to get home in time for Emma's arrival you were more than entitled to take some time off and be with your family.

I am SO glad to hear that Emma is getting big and ready to start crawling at light speed, lol...never could figure out how my kids managed to go so darn fast on their hands and knees...she'll keep you running that's for sure! :)

Spaceman and I are doing great but anxious for the warmer weather to get here so we can start going to the beach every weekend again..we really miss our 'play-time' there. He's been having to go in to work extra early all week so he's pretty worn out when he gets home...he'll sure be glad to see you are back...have your ears been ringing? We were just talking about you last week..lol

I have yet another grand-baby on the way...this will be number 7..another boy due to arrive in April! :) My mom is recovering nicely..still hasn't got all her strength back and she has to be careful using her left arm but she's getting there. She had a touch of pneumonia over Christmas so that made it rough but she's a fighter.

Oh! And my 6 month follow up went well too! Now in addition to my yearly mammo I will get an ultra-sound too. They put a surgical marker in there when they did the 2nd biopsy so they can keep an eye on things.

Life is good and you being back makes it that much better. :)

Oh! One more thing! lol How is the rest of your family doing? Will your kids be coming out to visit you this summer?

Regina is doing great...the deliverary really took a lot out of her....she is now on synthroid....not unusual but really unexpected on our part...It was rough on us for a while after i returned but we are all doing well.....

Hey kodo's little boy is not so little anymore....hiya flep....how's things going out there?...

Goldy..count on you to LIKE physics...man i hated that stuff........

It's kinda like Shepherds Pie only with fish. Creamy sauce base with fish, onion, veggies, topped with mashed potato with a crunchy toasted cheese topping.

Family's doing great. My son, turning 10 this April, loves baseball, and enjoys playing the piano. He's practicing quite a few pieces for a Music Festival - solos, duets, sonatina, and a concerto in which he plays with his piano teacher (she's playing on another piano as an orchestra role). There'll be baseball tryouts coming soon in March (Babe Ruth league), so I'm gonna get him to the batting cages getting him ready. He's still using his Tee-ball glove LOL, so we'll be getting him a new glove for the new season. Our 12th anniversary coming up in Feb.

Yeah, I used to live right by Hill AFB. Just moved last summer. I have to admit, it's nice to be away from the noisy planes.

What do they have...f-16's?...those are some noisy beasts....although if you live with them for a while you will get used to them....i did.........

Yeah, I lived there for 13 years so I got pretty used to them. Once in a while though they'd fly to low or perhaps they would just catch me off guard and it would be really loud. Nice place though. :)

FRAZ! Welcome back man! Don't sweat the time off. Transitioning from camo to civvies AND to parenthood in one swell foop would be enough to trip the circuit breakers for a lot of guys.

Is life starting to feel normal again, or is every day a new adventure?

I'm holding my own down here. Boring as usual. ;)

  36. frazzled

    frazzled Keeping the peace

Parenthood is a tough transition...especially since my other two are 16 and 14....but it is a great thing...regina is a great mom....she is talking about 2-3 more...I told her I would need three damn jobs and she said"so".....welcome to my world.....She is great.....

Everyday is pretty much an adventure of one sort or another....still a little shaky around crowds and sudden loud noises have the pridictable effect on me....not as bad as when i first got home though....

Enough of that...How are you doing?....I tend to think your life is not that boring....

2 or 3 MORE?!? OMG, back to Iraq! :D

This too shall pass. What were survival instincts there can get you funny looks back here, but don't sweat it. Anybody looks at you funny, tell them where you picked up the habit; they'll shut up.

Trust me; it's boring. :D I'm just a lowly working stiff, without any kids underfoot to make life interesting. But then, at my age, 3 kids underfoot would probably kill me. ;)

Hey There Frazz! Good to see you around again! Eric and I still pop in when we can. Keeping busy with our 2 little rugrats. Kolya started pre-school this fall and is well on her way to learning to read. Drexel is learning to hold his own a bit and not let his sister boss him around. Eric is still playing with the Crossing and they're working on some new material as well as planning a UK tour at the end of May (yep Goldie, it's looking like it's going to happen).

Our friend, Isaac is back over in Iraq for the elections. 3rd year in a row that he's been overseas for Christmas. He's engaged and his fiance (a paralegal) is over there as well.

Glad to hear that Emma and Regina are both doing well. ENJOY! :)

G.T....I know I can always count on you to put things in it correct perspective...your advice does not fall on deaf ears...If I have 2-3 more..van i give you one...I think I was safer in Iraq than here with 3 kids...know what I mean.....hahahahaha

Cindysnoopy...I was wondering If I would hear from you.....Sorry isaac is away again..i think I can say this with a certain amount of sincerity..Godbless him....I will say a prayer he comes home safe..again..Eric is still playing in the Crossing...Do they have a website i can get to..would love to hear some of their music....Those kids grow up too damn fast...sometimes i wish Emma could stay this age forever.....

mew2..Nice to meet you and I hope your sons injury\illness is not too severe.....Army, marine or Airforce?....BTW, Thank you and thank your son for me.....

Biggest difference is over there you worry about what goes BOOM. With kids, you worry when things get too quiet. ;)

  42. cindysnoopy

    cindysnoopy Shotgun!

Of course you'd hear from me! I'm not around as much as I used to be, but I still make an appearance when I have time. :D

Thanks for the prayers for Isaac. I know that he's in God's hands. He is willing to be there and regularly tells us that he's glad that he can be there so that we don't have to. He would have been out by now except that he felt that he had the training and experience, so why put someone else in his place who doesn't when there's such a need. I am scared for him, but proud to know someone so brave.

The Crossing finally got the new website up and running, though it hasn't been updated since this fall (as far as I know) besides tour dates. http://www.grrrrecords.com/thecrossing/index.html I had the passing thought of trying to contact you when they were in the area this past fall, but it slipped my mind in the busy-ness of things. Maybe next time. They've got some good contacts on the East Coast, so I could see them doing another tour there sometimes in the next couple of years. Eric got to meet Iceman and Darkheart at the show in Wilkes-Barre. It was too far for me to travel by myself from my parent's house, so I didn't make it to that show, unfortunately. One of these days they'll play in Syracuse and I'll tag along :)

Glad you are back safe and sound. if a little jumpy. Like GT says, that's to be expected. I suspect the return to the "boring life" feels refreshing indeed.
Give that new kid lots of hugs and kisses from all of us. :)
