I have accidently deleted the following Windows file:

How can I reinstall this file??

I think that file is spyware related to VirtualMonde. Get SpyBot Search and destroy and run a scan.

A random set of letters with a .dll extension is a red flag for this problem. To completely remove the malware you would have to do the Read and Run Me in the malware forum and then follow instructions.

Yes, it's a malware file. The message you're getting is actually a good thing! It's telling you that the malware.dll file is no longer on the PC which is good. However, it's parent process is still looking for it, meaning you still have an active infection. Follow the steps in the link provided above by sach2 to clean your PC.

    Good luck!

Hi Jocka29, welcome to MajorGeeks :)

The Malware Forum is an excellent place to get expert advice on completely removing unwanted files. Please re-post your problem along with logs/scans in the malware forum to get step-by-step removal instructions. You've done the time-consuming work of completing the scans and the malware specialists are very good at pin-pointing all suspect files and telling you exactly which ones to remove.

I can only give you tips on removing the process from msconfig so you don't see the error message (which is just a quick fix). The Malware forum people understand your scans to tell you all files that are not needed...Recommended.

I'm sure a forum moderator or site admin will move this to the Malware Removal Forum....

I have tried to post a thread in the malware removal forum, but it will not allow me to attach the logs because they are attached to this thread.
    How can I fix this???
