My pc says it cannot open an installed program because the MSVCR110.dll is missing. I looked at the Microsoft site and they could not find it when I searched for it. Where can I get that dll to download and install it?

Thanks, but he lead did not work. Instead, when I tried to install it, I got the following message: "One or more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix the problems and then retry setup. See log file. 0x80070641 -- the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for help." So far i have not discovered a work around for this. Any ideas?

    Run sfc /scannow
to see if it will repair the windows installer.

Plodr, thanks for the help. You apparently are the only one willing to take this on. I attempted to enter "sfc/scannow" into the run command and nothing happened. What am I missing?

What is your Windows version? What is your Windows Installer version?

As for the System File Checker not running, try to open a Command Prompt first ("cmd" in the Run window), then enter sfc /scannow in there.

    Hi

Indeed what is your Windows version and Service Pack as this can be crucial to the fix.
What software application are you trying to run?

    generally this should help HERE

My OS is Vista 7 Home Premium running Service Pack 1. The software is from the Nikon Camera Company and is named Capture NX-D, a photo manipulation application somewhat similar to Photoshop, Picasa, etc. This is the only application that does not work. All downloads from Microsoft, etc. download and install naturally. Once installed they open and operate normally.

    Hi

I would install the runtime listed in my post and then install as plodr lists the NX-D beta software, although you can use other software to edit pics of yours using GIMP, Picasa, Windows Photo Gallery etc

"Vista 7" should be either Vista or Windows 7. SP1 is the latest service pack assuming you are working under Windows 7.

    There are two issues.
    - The missig runtime dll
As plodr already mentioned you would need the C++ Redistributable 2012. In case you know the developer you could ask him to recompile with "static linking" though.

    - The installer issue
sfc /scannow could indeed help. Both Vista and Windows 7 require elevated privileges to run SFC.
Click the Windows button, type cmd into the search bar and wait until cmd.exe appears in the upper side of the window. Right-click this link and choose "Run as Administrator ...". Confirm the security warning. Type sfc /scannow in the cmd window and hit enter to run the program.
