    Hello

I have done a Windows 7 install on a Sony Vaio and need a driver for the Ricoh Card Reader on the machine

    Below is the hardware ID

    Base Sytem Device
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_9045104D&REV_12

On SOny website only the Vista Driver is available for the model Sony Vaio VGN-NS11J

    Any help would be great

I don't hold out too much hope for 100% success in this unless real W7 drivers for the device can be found. W7 does not seem to like 'converted' Vista drivers especially when it comes to devices connected to the USB bus, which this probably is.

You could try forcing the Vista drivers to be installed in a compatibility mode: highlight the device in Device Manager > (File) Action > Add legacy hardware. Or by manually updating the drivers in DevMan and pointing to the downloaded and unzipped driver folder.

EDIT: cross posted with tgell - nice find ;)
