    Hi

Just have to double check that the laptop in question is the same one in the old post you tagged onto in a Dell Inspiron 6000? if its not the same model please let us know what model it is?

Will need the BSOD message if its still happening in full to know where the issue is coming from?
Can you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and the laptop works ok or same BSOD?

Or if no BSOD then try the following and install the Chipsert from HERE, and reboot, then install the Network driver from HERE

Then look in Device Manager for yellow ! marks and name them.

The full driver list for that Laptop is HERE

Yes, The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 6000 with windows XP Pro, It boots up just fine, I re-installed windows Xp pro from a copy I had and it boots up just fine except for that it is missing the drivers for most of the things that came with it. I was able to install the earthnet controller that was given earlier, and was able to hardwire the laptop to the internet and to the unknown look up thing, and here are the drivers that need to be installed.

    -----Multimedia Audio Controller
    Intel Corporation 82801FB (ICH6) AC'97 Audio Controller

    -----Network Controller
    Broadcom Corp BCM4309 802.11a/b/g

    -----PCI Device
Ricoh Co Ltd SD Bus Host Adapter

    -----PCI Modem
    Intel Corporation 82801FB (ICH6) AC'97 Modem Controller

    -----SM Bus Controller
Intel Corporation 82801FB (ICH6) SMBus Controller

    -----Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
Intel Corporation 82801FB (ICH6) USB 2.0 EHCI Controller

    -----Video Controller
Intel Corporation 82915GM/GMS,82910GML Mobile Express Family Graphics Controller

    -----Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
Intel Corporation 82915GM/GMS, 82910GML Integrated Graphics Device

Thank you for any help you can give me.

    Hi

The drivers are all in the link I posted earlier, need to install the Chipset one first, its a crucial driver, it allows others to be installed correctly (the SMBus and USB EHCI drivers tell me that this one is missing)

The Video is this Intel one HERE

For Audio, you will need to install this UAA driver HERE first then install the Audio driver from HERE

and once installed run Windows update to see if it locates any updated drivers then check Device Manager again.

When I try to install the chipset driver, it says, " The file 'usbehci.sys' on (unknown) is needed" what should I do?

    Hi

Try installing this update package HERE

When in your original post you mentioned copied disk, is this a downloaded version of XP? also what Service Pack is it?

No, it's an origainal copy of xp but it's just one of the first ones, no service pack just windows xp, i installed windows updater so i could get service pack 2 and was able to install all the drivers you posted starting off with the chip set, and now it's only missing 3 drivers, the video controller, the PCI Modem, and the Network Controller.

Network is this one HERE and PCI modem should be this one HERE
