Hi Geekoids. Several days ago, I let Disk Cleanup well, clean up, including thumbnails. It seems to have removed several program's icons in the start menu, like Spyware Blaster, IOBit360 and ASC, Partition Wizard, etc. It says it'll put them back as needed, but I've used said programs several times over these several days, and they're still missing.

Would the following advice from a somewhat similar thread work to restore my icons, or will I have to reinstall my affected programs? It says to type into the run command:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

I'm brand new to Win7 (64-bit Ultimate) and I really can't find my way out of a paper bag just yet. Thanks muchly.

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Good tip, floridaze - I'm assuming the batch file was the fix?

Yes indeed. Sorry I didn't specify which post on that page was the solution. Redoing the batch file fixed all my icons in one fell swoop.

Don't use the thumbnail cleanup option on disk cleanup in Win7 Ultimate!
