    someone asked me for my computer data a few days ago, and as I muddled through the system data I noted that two of my IE dll's were listed as missing.
    they are;

    iecont.dll

    and

    iecontlc.dll

    I went to the search window at MG and typed IE in, but nothing that sounded like these came up.

    how can I replace them? what do they do and are they vital to my system? I assume they vanished when I yanked Norton AV off my computer. I haven't done anything else major to my computer except download a few online programs. all from clean sites, so I don't think that caused a problem.

    You could also try IEfix (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4467.html).... you'll need your XP CD; when you launch IEfix, you'll get a 'file not found' type of error and you'll need to navigate to the I386 folder on your XP CD. It will run fine from there.

    BTW- a safe reload of Windows will also fix any missing file problems....
