missing Msvcr80.dll and Msvcr71.dll files ???

So i got back from overseas after a year or so. I got this outdated PC at the house with windows 98 on it. :-D

Anyhow prior to leaving my older version of Aim worked and all the other programs i had on it aswell.

Now when i go to open them i get error messages saying there are missing Msvcr80.dll and Msvcr71.dll files

how do i fix this?

The missing files are Visual C (or Visual C+) files. You can download the needed files from this link. Simply copy them to the Windows system folder. For Win98, this is C:\windows\system. For Win2000/XP, copy them to C:\Windows\system32.

 

*Just a suggestion: after downloading these files be sure to "copy and paste" them into the system32 file directory -- then restart computer. The boot.ini file will look for them there and EUREKA! Hope this helps. R

2 issues tho. 1. how do i DL these files from this site? I see the alphabetized selection list but then how do i aquire it?

2. I don't see the Msvcr71.dll in the "M" list. :confused
