missing reserve partition

I was doing a clean install of Win 8 and want to verify my steps so I don't lose the reserve partition again.

1-delete all partitions until you see the one you want to put Win 8 on i.e. 800GB unallocated...
2-custom
3-drive opts(adv.)
4-new
5-apply
6-you should see the reserve partition with the 800 GB unallocated partition
7-next

*Even if I see a reserve partition, at first, I should delete it until all I see is the one I want to put Widows on(800 GB unallocated), then proceed to
steps 1-7.

peter, the truth is that unless you plan to encrypt your OS drive, which I'm quite certain you do not, there is no need whatsoever for the system reserved partition. If you are installing to an unpartitioned drive then the installer will probably create this partition for you. OTOH if you first partition the drive to create say a partition for the OS and another for your data then the installer will not create a system reserved partition. And whether it does or does not is completely unimportant as your Windows will boot and run fine in either situation.

You might want to read THIS before you go any further.

 

B- So if I just delete all of the partitions until only 0 unallocated space 800 GB 800 appears and click next, I am ok?

 

That will work just fine as long as you have taken care of your data files.
