Mistake with System Restore & HitmanPro

I screwed up. I was doing my best to follow the instructions to clean my friends WinXP PC. But I missed a step and then incorrectly ran a tool. Let me explain.

First, I quickly scanned the instructions "READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide". I didn't see anything in there about toggling system restore, so I never disabled it before running the tools. Despite my efforts to run the tools and clean my PC, I assume I'm still infected, right? I imagine I will have to turn off system restore and then run all of the Windows XP Malware Removal/Cleaning Procedure again. Will this affect the logs that I eventually post?

The second thing is that I messed up on the HitmanPro tool. Instead of hitting "Ignore" as instructed in the directions, I ran the default choice and ended up cleaning the results of the scan. In addition, I didn't see a log generated.

Should I redo everything from the start and run all 5 tools?

 

ok. Ran the tools and results show infections. Created a new thread with the logs. Will await for instructions.
In the meantime, do I keep system restore turned "off" when I reboot? Or should I toggle it back on?
