I'm using Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 version 10. When I click Start > Control Panel > Keyboard I'm told that:

    g:\627022f3d913c831facae8\MouseKeyboardCenter\setup64\

cannot be found and that mkc.msi is missing. Where can I obtain these files?

    Here's what I did:

I went to and downloaded the file as suggested by Maxwell.

I used Everything to locate anything on my C drive referencing Mouse and Keyboard Center and did not find anything.

I clicked Start and typed "Mouse and Keyboard Center" in the Search box and it found the "Mouse and Keyboard Center".

I clicked on it. That opened up the Center but I could not see any version number so I closed the Center.

From the Control Panel's Programs and Features I located the Center and found that it is Version 14.41.137 from 2022 so I think that is what I'm using.

I don't want to uninstall anything until I can confirm that the new version (i.e. 2024) was actually downloaded.

    How can I do that?

You can check whether the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center (2024) was successfully downloaded by examining the downloaded file in the download location for your browser. By the way, which browser are you using? That can help pinpoint where the file went.

Go to your Downloads folder or wherever your browser saves files.

Look for a file named something like MouseKeyboardCenter_64bit_Eng.exe or similar.

Right-click the file > Properties > check the Details tab for the version number or the Date Modified to see if it matches the 2024 release.

When you downloaded the file, make sure to choose the correct architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) based on your system.

Once you're confident the new version is downloaded, you can proceed with uninstalling the old one and installing the new version. If you want to be extra cautious, make a restore point before installing the new software so that you can roll back if it doesn't work - see Enable, Disable, Manage, Delete or Create a System Restore Point - MajorGeeks

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

I followed your instructions and downloaded the file. I downloaded the first file in the list on the MS site. From my Control Panel I deleted the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard application.

I installed what I just downloaded and I got some Chinese stuff. I shoulda read the instructions on the MS site first, because the English version was pretty far down on the list and I downloaded and installed the Chinese version. My bad.

So then I downloaded the English version, installed it, and now everything appears to work. :)
