    Hello!
I just got a new computer. It has onboard 8 channel audio. I have 5.1 speakers. I installed the drivers, plugged the speakers in and everything was dandy. But my case has mic and headphone jacks that I wanted to use, so I plugged them into the mobo, and now my speakers don't work, even when headphones aren't plugged in. Surely there's a simple solution!
    Thanks in advance!

    Different cases have different wiring.
When using front pannel connections unless the case wiring has a jumper wire you would be only able to use the front connections.

When you connect the front pannel wires you probably had to remove jumper pins on the front pannel header of your MOBO, the case wiring I mention above will provide the same connections as the jumpers you removed, resulting in the ability to use either the front pannel or the rear connections without changing the wiring on your MOBO

Hope I explained so you can understand, if I can find any pictures I'll postem.
