I recently had a slowness problem with my Windows 7 Dell desk top which was traced to modem trouble. U-Verse sent me a free replacement but before receiving it I rebooted the old one and my system now works fine. Should I replace the old one with the new unit or just return it.

Keep it in case the problem recurs, yes?

Thanks. It's free only if the old one is returned so i guess you're saying to swap the old one out. It's about 4 years old.

I would definitely return the old modem and keep the new one.
After 4 years that's really good service!
