   I've recently downloaded an update for my modem. (Don't know who makes it) Its a 56k Btw...Well now whenever dial for the net it makes a different noise...is this a problem at all...probly not....im j/w...thanx

   Probably not an issue. Some modems actually have a volume control that you can adjust through Control Panel. When you updated the driver, it may have changed it or reset it to defualt.
