Just install a new modem after a storm took out my last one, I think it was the thunder or something. Its a Dynex 56K V.92 PCI Internal Fax/ Voice/ Data Modem. It keeps dropping me off line intermittenly, sometime in stay running for up to 1/2 hour, and at other times it will stay connected for only a couple of minutes. Is they some settings or config I should be looking at, or is this just a junk moden, my laptop stays up so i know my ISP end is good.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yes there is. since it's years I really dealt with a modem I can't really remember what the actual name is but it's the communication speed you would want to change. it's probably at standard which is 115200 I belive (within the modem properties). lowering that would make a more stable connection. contact your ISP for more info about that, what they recommend etc.
