Alright, I did look for this in your archives search, or tried to and the system said that you were perhaps experiencing technical dificulties and the page could not be displayed or accessed. Something for you to check on. Here is my Question:

I recently got this machine to drift( I know what the right word is but I am a non-conformist)around the internet and found that I had purchased an armload of headaches and troubleshooting from Systemax. So the most recent problem is that When I boot to safe mode my system says that it cannot detect the modem. My "Warranty" of Ninety days is expired and the system manufacturer won't answer my questions without getting paid for it, So How do I check the safe mode drivers to see if they are being loaded like I am sure they should be, and what other things can I do to get the modem operable in safe for the various scans such as Trend microsoft.

My Modem is a Conexant PCI 56K With a Systemax driver(appearantly) Revision number 7.06.00.50 published 7/27/2004 and I don't know if there are any updates to them. I tried the manufacturers website and found nothhing refering to this problem, and I suspect that Systemax has made the Modem as one of the shutdown systems in safe mode. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Dial up modems never have, and probably never will work in Safe Mode.

    Sorry :(

Ok, that would have been nice to know before I spent so much time looking for the why on this one. Just for the record, don't buy Systemax unless you like wasting your time.

    Thanx Big A..

To expound a bit on Adrynalyne's post, Safe Mode is loaded with the minimal amount of drivers necessary for Windows to boot and function. Modem drivers aren't necessary for Windows to boot and run, and that is why you couldn't find them. As Safe Mode loads with minimal drivers, it is extremely useful in diagonising system problems, specifically drivers. If something works in Safe Mode and doesn't in Normal Boot, then it is almost certainly a driver issue/problem. Hope this helps!
