Moniter Problems

Hi! I have a moniter problem. My moniter is way to bright even with the settings on 0% brightness, is there some way to fix this through the graphics card or a utility i can use to fix it or at least turn the brightness down manually? I have a geforce mx4000 video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

sorry its an HP p1110 21 inch Crt monitor, forgot to mention it above.

 

could try some shades ,so you have set all the picture controls on the monitor to zero and its still too bright,when colour contrast and brightness are all set to 0% the screen should be black,can you confirm this is what you have done and the screen is still too bright,firstly does turning the controls down adjust the picture at all if the controls are old the knobs could be spinning on the controls
