    Hi all,

I've been seriously struggling with this since I got a new TV.

My setup is: PC and monitor HDMI-HDMI, and also a TV HDMI-DP. I run them in duplicated because having the mouse constantly disappear to the tv is annoying and is probably more work for the gfx so duplicating the screens is what I want. Both screens are 1080p.

However, whenever I load certain Games like WoW just before the game loads it flicks to the desktop and scales everything 150% (which is the recommended for the TV's settings). So when in game, the UI is massive and it just messes everything up. At this point I don't want the TV involved, I just keep it in duplicate for ease of when I want to load a movie on my PC then sit on the sofa to watch with the TV.

My old TV which was 42" i think, worked fine with no issues whatsoever. So it's something because of the new TV. No amount of cable switching and settings switching seems to be able to stop the Scaling. The annoying thing is, because the TV scales my monitor up for whatever reason, as it is duplicated both screens are the same so the UI is messed up on both.

It seems to me that the TV is scaling my monitor so it'll fit on the TV, even though it should work fine anyway and it just breaks things.

    Help required!

    Thanks in advance!

You might try unplugging your TV before booting to play WoW.
Or, if the behavior is consistent, configure WoW how you want it to look using the GUI scaling in game.

    Hi DOA,

That does work and has been my go-to strategy since. It just sucks that I lost the easy way I used to have just leaving it duplicated permenantly with my old TV.

Something I have noticed, whether it's plugged in or not, ever since i first did it, a lot of text on game clients etc has gotten a bit blurry. I've been trying to read up on this high DPI thing but to no avail.
All they seem to mention is 'disable DPI scaling', which i don't actually have an option for. 'Only override high DPI scaling performed by'
I've never seen this before, only since the new TV has it changed from disabling DPI scaling.
