Monitor not starting up

    Computer starts but monitor goes into power save, I can hear when computer has finished going through start up procedure. Sometimes I can get it too work by rebooting after time out, how do I fix this.

    1. Reseat the video cables or try different cables.
    2. Try a different monitor; if it does the same thing then it points to your video card as the problem.

    I have changed from VGA to HDMI, it works but then on shut down it can work or it may not work the next time I want to start up the computer. I do not have another monitor, is there any sort of test that I can do to see if it is the graphics card. The display is really good, no flickers or lines or anything that would indicate a faulty card that I can see.
