Monitor Problem

Okay, i brought home a friends computer to format the harddrive. Ive done this many times before and no problems. This time i go plug a monitor, mouse, and keyboard into the computer...fine. I turn it on and all i get is 2 blank screens on two of the monitors i tried, and the third in 'inactive' mode. Whats the deal? It worked fine at her house..and i can hear the hard drive switching on. Any ideas??!

 

Tried again...nothing though. Anyone have any ideas?
