Monitor won't show desktop intermittenly

I just recently bought a ViewSonic VA2226w from buy.com (good deal) http://www.buy.com/prod/viewsonic-v...loc/101/205631230.html?adid=17873&dcaid=17873
I have it hooked up through the DVI connection and it is the primary monitor. I also have a older ViewSonic G810 (VGA) and a Gateway EV700 (VGA). The two VewSonics are running off of a ATI 9250 256MB PCI Video card and the gate is on a ATI 7200 AGP. Randomly when I boot the computer everything comes on just like it is supposed to it goes through the welcome screen but when it loads the desktop the new VA226w comes up with the no signal message like the computer is off. The other two monitors work fine and it acts as if the other monitor is on. ie the mouse stats over on that monitor and certain programs open on it like the windows shutdown but I can't see them. If I reboot enough times it comes on. I've checked everything that to me is obvious: loose\bad cables, drivers, etc. My computer specs:
Windows XP home SP2, 2.5 GHZ, 2GB RAM, ATI 9250, ATI 7200, PSU 550W
ALL manufacture drivers are installed and have been reloaded. This appears to me to be a problem with windows loading the driver for the monitor but I do not know how to fix that. I was on the phone with ViewSonics "Tech support" for over an hour and they wanted me to send the monitor back. For over an hour the only thing they really had me do was wiggle the cables and ensure they were tight and check the refresh rate on the monitor was 60 Hrz. Not impressed. Before buying this monitor I had a second gateway EV700 that went bad, and I did not have any problems with that set up. Thought I would check with you guys before I actually send it back. Any and all ideas are appreciated.
