ouch...but a good point. maybe if we all viewed our kids as something we were going to lose we would spend more time and effort on them. and maybe my parenting skills have been honed more by that very premise than any conscious decision on my part.

 

Well, having lost my entire family in one way or another, I can relate to that. One reason I don't do sentimental tear-jerker stuff is that I have way too many tears and anxieties of my own. Enough said.

That link was one of the high profile ones, which is bad enough in itself. It's the millions that suffer in silence, and often in persecution, even in our society, I really feel bad for. Something I am also familiar with.

 

Not sure I can or am going to open that link, guaging the reaction. Laurie hit the nail on the head for me with "maybe if we all viewed our kids as something we were going to lose....."

I guess it's just one of those "ouches" I don't need highlighting. I do the best I can with the bed I made, and the wisdom I have gained from experience.

 

Just a clarification the link I posted is neither "tragic" or "tear jerky" in my opinion. It is a true story of a son who suffered a birth defect that left him mental disabled and physically handicapped, and how his family fought to have him fully intigrated into society, and the sons struggle to overcome his handicap. Both the son and father compete in triatholons, and his son now teaches at the college he graduated from. The love each have for the other, and the grit they have shown is in my opinion inspiring. Sorry no "ouches" "tears" just great Love and human spirit is how I saw the link.

 

Oh that link! I have already watched that and it was very uplifting and encouraging BCGray I thought this was something different they way it was being referred to.
