Most recent driver?

Hi guys, having looked in Kodo's sticky on the forum here I see loads of driver download sites.. how do I know if the driver I'm looking for and have located is the most recently updated version of what I need?

I want to download a driver for a Ralink RT2500 Wireless LAN Card. I found a driver no problems at totallydrivers.com but, as I say above, do I just take it that this is the most recent driver for this piece of kit??

Don't want to waste time and effort downloading an 'old' driver which will make no difference, I want to get the right one...

There should be a verions number to the driver you download, either on the name of the exe setup or if multiple files in the driver pack, the .inf file which will open with notepad.

Then cross check it against the driver you have installed, buy going into Device manager and double clicking ( or right click properties ) the hardware of the driver your wishing to update > click the driver tab adn the Version should be listed.

BUT one thing if the maker of your hardware doesnt have the latest driver for download, be suspect at the version your downloading and dont update a driver for updatings sake unless your having an issue with th edriver you have installed currently, main ones to really want to update on regular basis are the Graphic Card Drivers.
