Motherboard and RAM compatibility.

Looking at getting an ASUS P5N32-E SLI and 2 GB of RAM, G. Skill. My question may seem rather obvious but when looking at the FSB, for the motherboard it says the FSB is 1333/1066MHz and the RAM is 800MHz. So are they not compatible? I will need to get the more expensive motherboard with 1333/1066/800MHz?

The board supports the DDR2 800, the RAM is DDR2 800 too.

Compatible or not?

There are 3 models , and ram requirements can be found from the Asus support site, by looking on the left column of the page with your motherboard on, and at QVL, - clicking will give you a pdf of recommended ram.

 

Thanks, but I am still a little unsure.
The board supports the DDR2 800, the RAM is DDR2 800 too. Does the FSB have anything to do with the selection of the RAM then? Or is it just the DDR2 800 that matters?

The variation of supported fsb, might be confusing, but you are o.k.
Later , if you go deeper , and get completely computer addicted, you will possibly overclock , and then the other figures will be relevent to you - at this time, if the ram is in their list, you have no problems.
