So here is what I have now; Gigabyte B550 Autos Pro AC, AMD 5 5600x,
GeForce GTX-960, Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE family controller.
    Windows 11 - 21H2
I know it is some what old, but I'm old myself.

Problem is I think my LAN is going south.

My provider is AT&T, 1.2Gbps, 989 Mbps actual into the modem (BGW-320)
AT&T and third party speed tests gives me between 740 and 520 on the Down (sometimes even lower)
About near the same on the Up. Around 3.2 ping,

Sometimes web sites take longer to load, and some games have a definite Lag.

So, I assume there is no 'fix', to that end, What is a good, reliable, MoBo combo. ?

I'm retired but have started a small biz with my hobby. I do a lot of emailing , forum gossip, web browsing,
various online buying and selling, and of course playing games.

    I value your expert opinions!

    Thanks!

OH, forgot to mention, ATX mounted horizontal in a SilverStone, CD-RW, DVD-RW, Blueray drive and a removeable HD slot.

First, if you check your ISP service agreement, a sure bet is it says, "up to" 1.2Gbps.

Second, even 520 is extremely fast. Do you have a baseline to compare with? That is, what were you getting when you first got this gateway device? Did you reboot it? Did you contact tech support to have them check from their end?

How do you connect to it? Wifi or Ethernet?

Yes, 'They' said they are delivering 1 gig to the modem. My house has CAT 6 throughout.

My concern is the Realtek 2.5g on board LAN is going.

They are sending out a tech today, we will see what happens.

Well, Tech said there was a bad end on the incoming fiber. He replaced that,
But speed is now between 860 and 540 My norm was about 980.

I still don't trust the Realtek onboard LAN

Should I buy a ethernet card for my existing MoBo or just buy a new board?

Try a different computer first. Borrow a laptop, if you have to.
