I have a pretty old setup and I was going to buy a new motherboard and cpu.
I'm getting an Abit NV8 socket 754 motherboard, with and Athlon 64 3400+.
I have some older hardware that I'll use on it. I have ram, hard drives and optical drives already. I was wondering if I'll be able to use my Radeon 9800 Pro on it. I don't know a lot about PCI-e but will my AGP8x video card be able to work on it..... Please help me because I really need to know. Thanks...

You'll prolly need a new power supply depending on the specs of your current one, unless its 350-400w quality psu or 500w generic, you cant use your agp card in a pci-e board so you'll need a new vid card,if you use your current ddr 2100 your mem bandwidth will be abissmal making your new computer feel almost as slow as your current

There are few times in pc upgrading when the expense of one or two parts is worth the performance they will deliver, this isnt one of them, you could either plumb out for the ram,psu and vid card or go for a smaller upgrade,I would consider something like a agpmobo, cpu and mem bundle :)
