I am trying to figuer out why a Motorola Network Adapter Model WN825G on an old HP laptop. I can plug it in, and it beeps. When I look at the device manager, it shows a yellow ? by other devices. It shows on PCI communication device, pci ethernet controller and pci network controller.

Considering I'm pretty much a newbie at a lot of this, any insight would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you need the drivers installed for that:

Driver Update 6.1.1 This is the driver.
See if that clears up the question marks in your Device Manager. If it doesn't, I'll need the Make (HP) and model # of that laptop to see if I can find the other drivers you need.

    Also this might help you.

Thanks, let me know which devices still need drivers after you install that one.
Edit: I'm guessing the OS is XP, right?

no the OS is ME, it's too old and slow to run xp, i think.

Hola geek units... any chance you ever found a solution to this issue (win98/ME drivers)? I am trying to make the 825GP card I have lying around work for my sister's crusty old Thinkpad 600, but I can only find the 6.1.1 drivers that don't support 98. I note that the 6.1.1 release notes direct 98/ME users to the 6.0.2 drivers (which are nowhere to be found), and I can also google up references to 3.60.7.0, but no actual files(except possibly at driveragent.com, but hell if I'm paying 30 bucks for a free driver...).

Every link I find just refers back to the Mot site, which has nothing but 6.1.1. I even called Motorola and they (after putting me on hold for a long time) claimed that the card doesn't support 98, although I don't buy that (see the reference in the 6.1.1 release notes!).

    So.. any luck?

    Thanks!
