Mouse Fix?..

I need the mouse to do a "Back" click for when I'm on the Internet.. selecting pix for editing practice... Is there a way to make a third mouse button be the back button?.. Or, on a two button mouse, make left click, when on the Internet, be the back button..? Or, can I make the "/" key be the back button..? I'm wondering how it would fare if I had a two tier keyboard..? and maybe even a couple of foot pedals, like a "pinano", or electric "gittar"..?

It's a "pain in the azz" having to always scroll to that out of the way back button in the top left corner, when it be that my primary focus is generally maintained, and conditioned to be, in the middle of the screen...
These prehistoric controls Stifle the PC's functionality.. and are part of the reason a good roll crumbles...:cry

 

Backspace works well for me!

Or get one of the Microsoft mice that has the side buttons, one for back and one for forward.

 

Get yourself a keyboard with multimedia and internet 'hot keys' or 'hot buttons'. It's a row of keys/buttons above the function keys (F1, F2, etc) and there's a button for just about every internet and/or multimedia function; back, forward, refresh, volume up/down,home page, etc.... here's a link to such a keyboard for reference: http://www.malabs.com/product.asp?product_sku=64573&item_no=KB-OGK2001&show=b&pass=&shopid= If you magnify the pic, you'll see the row of multimedia/web hot keys. A generic keyboard like this should be under $15.00 at any PC store; a fancy brand name keyboard (Microsoft or LogiTech for example) will probably be about $30.00...... good luck!

Thanks for that info mcadam, I have a 5-button mouse with side buttons and never installed the software for it or read the instructions. (Yes, it's a man thing, girls) :strongNow, I know what they do.:cool

 

Personally I hate them - we use them at school and I'm forever clicking them when I don't want to go back!
