mouse freeze

Can't get to submit on 2 other threads! freezes! Did delete 4.9 G cookies.

I'm experiencing a similar problem.
Windows ME 4.90.3000
1.2 G Asus A7A266, ddr/sdr
ATI all in wonder graphics
60 GB harddrive little over half full
mouse freezes every few minutes, very hard to do anything. Sometimes if I wait a minute it unfreezes. Seem to freeze at a junction of lines or edge of dialouge box??? Was freezing on opening, was able to do a system restore back to Aug 18, helped, ( it would not go back to July) Tried again and the calender seems stuck on Aug.
Forgot how to get rid of temp. internet files and cookies - will try in search.
Like suggestions for new system: I'm an artist, need to store lots of photos and graphics. Must run flight programs and Call of Duty.

checked for adaware. not there.
Yes, have PCillin up and checking .
I'll try the cleaner.

After ccleaner, I recommend a good defrag of the hard drive.

Sometimes, if the mouse is freezing, some application may be spiking to 100% cpu utilization.

Sometims this is hard to diagnose with windows ME.

Did complete cleaner, it takes a long time to defrag, I should start that overnight or do you need to watch to see that it is working? I have done it before but I think there was a problem last time I tried.

disklit.exe is now on my desktop, my old defrag, Intel optimizer can go in the trash, er, remove programs! Some other multimedia icons have appeared? Coincidental? I don't seem to be freezing as much.
