    hi there,

my laptop has been driving me nuts and i am hoping someone can help. the mouse has a tendency to drag off into the corner of the screen if i bump the laptop in any way. or if i try to click the button. i can only tap the touchpad to click on any selections or the mouse will go haywire and drag off to the corner. when this happens, all i can do is wait and hope that it stops soon. usually it takes a few minutes, but sometimes it goes on for hours. i can't get anything done and feel like i am constantly walking on eggshells as the slightest bump or accidental click will set the mouse off. does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it? it's a dell latitude c510.

    thanks!

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please do not post multiple threads for the same problem!

Do you really believe that this is malware problem and not a hardware or driver issue?

If you truly believe it is malware, continue with the below. Otherwise, try posting in the Hardware Forum.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
