Mouse issue

On my backup machine I have a flaky mouse, it will drop things I am dragging also right clicking a link to open in a separate tab if there is a link below it will open it. I am using a Logitech mouse, I tried to use the mouse ware that came with it and it kills my key board, not a big deal I clone it back from the slave. I have been diddling with this for awhile, I update and or tried different versions of Dell drivers. They system has 2G ram!!!!!!!!!!

Wonders will never cease! As I was typing this a MS update come on the machine in question, the first one was a Dell graphics update. I thought could it be! Yup it fixed the problem, apparently they picked up on it working like a charm now!

Thought the issue was cured! It has returned, as I mentioned above if I right click to open another link 90% of the time it will open any link that may be under the selection applet. I have reloaded all of the boards drivers fresh off the Dell site with no luck! This is a pain, I hope to find a cure.

 

Have you tried uninstalling the mouse driver, re-boot and let Windows use a default driver.
As for the graphics driver, I think its best to get that from the GPU manufacturer or if that doesn't work, go back to the one form Dell.

See if you can find the proper graphics driver from nVidia or ATI, download,
make a restore point, remove the old driver, reboot, install the new one.

Don't mess with the graphics driver if you're not comfortable doing that, as it
may be working just fine, and installing the wrong one can screw things up.
