I have an Asus laptop. I would like to know how to disable the tap feature on the mouse pad.

Since ASUS makes hundreds of different models, it helps if you provide the exact model. We can then search for your hardware and find out if you have Alps, Synaptic or something else.

If you want to disable the touchpad completely and not just the tap because you have an external mouse attached, on my netbook, the Fn + F7 key turns off the touchpad.

Here are the Win 7 64 bit drivers
    http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K52F&os=30
which indicate the touchpad is Elantech.

Here from the Elantech page it shows settings for your touchpad which you get to by clicking the mouse icon in control panel
    http://www.emc.com.tw/eng/st_tpn_sp.asp
See if a setting is in there. Probably the last screen where there is Tapping shown in the left pane.

If you don't see what you want, contact Elantech or ASUS.

I see that your laptop has
so ASUS might know of additional settings.
