Is there any way to cause the mouse pointer to disappear when it's not in motion in Windows XP, besides when you're typing? I remember there was a setting in Windows 98SE that allowed you to do this, but if it remained in the subsequent OS's, including XP, then I haven't found it. I was told by someone else to try downloading Tweak UI for XP, but it didn't have this particular setting, and nothing else I would personally use on my system. If it is there, could someone let me know where the setting is? I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you for trying to help, but I guess you missed the statement in my original post where I didn't need the setting for when I'm typing. That one, I found easily enough. What I'm looking for is when the mouse is not in motion in other situations, such as on the regular desktop, and when you leave it unmoved, it disappears until you move the mouse again. Like I mentioned, this "disappearing pointer" feature, as I described it, was in other Windows versions, but not in XP.

Sorry, I missed that part of your post. I could not find anything that would do what you want. Perhaps someone else will have something for you.
