I have had this out of control, possesed mouse now for some time. When the resources are low it is worse.
running an acer ASPIRE dual processor. External mouse works better.

Are you talking about the trackpad on the palm rest? I have problems myself with the trackpad unless I install software from my laptops' (I have two) manufacturer (Dell) which allows me to disable or turn off the trackpad entirely. Go to the Acer Support site and see if similar software is available for your particular Aspire.

Yes it's the trackpad. I also have the keyboard with hiccups. There is just a chance, that I can save my little machine.

On my Aspire V5, holding down the FN (function key) and pressing F7 toggles the trackpad on/off.

Believe it or not I have seen this happen on my dell optiplex 760 also. It could be suspect to Win Vista.
