Mouse problem???

I am not sure if the problem I am having with my computer is mouse related but I would like to find out. I was surfing on the web when my mouse arrow froze in the middle of my screen. It froze with the hourglass symbol stuck like it was loading something. I waited awhile and nothing, can't move it or do anything. I tried ctrl alt delete to go to the task manager and that wouldn't work. Finally I decided to reboot and still nothing, the arrow of the mouse is stuck in the middle of the machine, no matter how many times I reboot or even when I tried booting into safe mode, still the arrow is stuck in the center of the screen. I tried disconnectind and reconnecting the mouse (it is a wireless mouse) and i tried resetting the wireless base for the mouse, none of which worked. I was thinking about trying to reinstall the mouse itself, but I no longer have the installation disk because I recently moved. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help??? Thanks so much.

 

What happens if you go into safe mode??

When i go into safe mode i can't navigate or do anything, it took me an hour to get into safe mode in the first place because of not being able to navigate with the mouse since it is stuck in the middle of the screen. I will try the author's website, its a compaq wireless mouse.
