Mouse Reacting ... Eventually!

In the last couple of days, when I'm pressing on my left mouse button to select something or go to the next page or something like that, I'm having to press the button two, three or more times before the PC reacts and takes me to the required page, or opens the required file or whatever. Any idea why please?

 

First thought, obviously - bad mouse. Have you tried another one?

 

I haven't tried a different one. I'll do that if I can find one. But it's strange that it happened overnight, as it were. Anyway, thanks for your help.

 

Mice sometimes just up and die, similar to their rodent counterparts. I try to keep a few around, just in case. (NOT the rodents, though.)

It might also be as simple as taking some canned air to it and blowing out any crud that may have gotten in there.
