I previously posted this problem and thought I had it solved. But alas, the problem is back & I need help.

My mouse worked well for years but in the last 2-3 months there is strange behavior from the mouse. Sometimes a single left click on a folder opens the folder as though I had double clicked. Or when I try to move the folder from one place on the desktop to another location, the folder keeps opening as though I have double clicked on the folder which I did not. Sometimes single clicking on the top bar of a window makes the window open full screen as though I have double clicked on the bar. Sometimes when I left click on an item on the desktop to move the item to another place on the desktop, the item does not move - nothing happens. This is all intermittent - because sometimes the mouse works just fine.

(Note that I have checked that 'folder options' is set to open a window on double click.)

I have tried another M310 mouse but the problem was not solved. Tried a different USB2.0 port - problem still here. Tried another Logitech Unifying Receiver which solved the problem for 2 weeks & I was happy. But now the problem is back & I don't have a clue on how to fix this.

Since replacing mouse & receiver does not permanently solve the problem, could the issue be with the Windows 7 drivers? Other software? I tried updating "mice & other pointing devices" drivers for "ELAN Input Device" & "HID-compliant mouse" but Windows reported that there are no updates.

Maybe you need to adjust the click speed. Go to Control Panel > Mouse. Try adjusting the Double-click speed.

I tried that - no difference. Mmm - I'll try plugging the Unifying Receiver into another USB 2.0 port & see if that makes a difference; had not thought of that before.
