mouse won't work!

The other day, I booted up my computer and found that my mouse was no longer working. I tried rebooting, then replacing the mouse and it still wouldn't work. I had my dad look at it and he said that something was wrong with the file vmouse.vxd, so I copied the file from his computer and tried to put it on mine, but it wouldn't work. I don't understand what could be wrong. The mouse works fine in safe mode, just not in regular mode.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

go to 'mouse' in control panel and look at the 'hardware' tab. you can troubleshoot from there
