move icons

I used to be able to drag and drop files and folders with xp but with Win 7, I am unable to do so.

Right click on the Windows Icon start button and select properties. Click the "Start Menu" tab and select customize. Is "Enable context menus and dragging and dropping" checked?

Maybe this will help. Is it every folder or only the Documents folder?

I have no idea why it isn't working for you guys, but here's the proof that left button drag and drop to (My) Documents does work in Win 7 64-bit. (It's also called My Documents here because it's a shared folder with XP and in the pic I'm dropping a music file into Documents).

 

I drag and drop the entries in the start menu but Documents games etc display a red circle with a slash through it and disallowing me from dragging and dropping.
