Move Wlm To A New Computer?

I have Windows Live Mail on my old Win7 computer. Is there any way to copy the program (not contacts or e-mails, but the program itself) to my new Win10 computer since WLM is no longer available for download?
I've heard lots of bad things about Win10 Mail, and nothing good, so would like to keep WLM if possible.
If not, I'll probably install MailBird on the new computer and transfer contacts and e-mails to it via jump drive.

 

Copying an installed program from one PC to another is theoretically possible but not easily done.
Just download Windows Live Essentials and install it.

You don't have to believe everything you hear. I've never had a problem of any sort with Mail in 10 and although trusty old Thunderbird is still installed and maintained I rarely have any reason to fire it up. You should at least try Mail for yourself before writing it off - it might just suit your style of working.

 

Ditto, the Win10 mail client is fantastic imho...…..since beginning to use it, I have 3 email addy's synced and all perform great.
It lets me configure what I need to, love the GUI and is reliable/solid.

Always fascinates me why we would rather listen to false news without checking software out for ourselves?​

 

The thing that I heard that was of most concern to me was that on Win10 Mail, you couldn't make and send groups, and I have a lot of different groups I send to--can you send groups on 10 mail?

 

Does the current download of WLE still contain WLM?

 

It isn't a built-in feature, no. There are a couple of ways to do so but if groups are high on your needs list then Mail may not be the right choice for you despite its many other merits.
