I did a search and I followed the steps in one of the threads but that didn't lead me to any success. I went through all the steps, deleting folders, deleting .dll and first and foremost going through Add/Remove program list and trying to install Moviepass License agreement. Everytime I press Remove, the website pops up and trys to get me to purchase moviepass. Then a pop up appears and I can't close it out unless I do CTRL + ALT + DELETE. Also two IE shortcuts appear on my desktop. I tryed to follow steps as best I could but nothing seemed to work.

I've followed the read my step, and try to do everything it said. Should I post my Hijack thread or anything else?

Yes if you have followed the guide verbatim, then attach the requested logs.

    Here's the Hijack one.

I hope someone can help me from that. It seems like Moviepass is easy to remove, just the ways I have tryed haven't been successful.

Please run step 6 of the READ ME which you skipped and attach the two logs.

Then properly follow step 7 of the READ ME and install HijackThis correctly. You installed it exactly where the directions indicated not to install it.

    Also do the below.

Let's get an installed programs list from HijackThis!
    • Run HijackThis, click Open the Misc Tools section
    • Click Open Uninstall Manager
    • Click Save List (generates uninstall_list.txt)
    • Click Save, to save it to a file where you can find it.
    • Attach the uninstall_list.txt file to your next message.

Well you now have HJT in the correct location but you still have not run step 6 of the READ ME as required. HJT is far from the perfect malware finder. That is why it is the last step not the first.

You should uninstall the below using Add/Remove programs but I have a feeling it may give you an error message. Try anyway.
    Viewpoint Media Player (Remove Only)

Make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Please run HijackThis and click on the Open the Misc Tools Section button on the open page. Then select Open process manager on the left-hand side. Look for the following process (or processes) and one at a time kill them by selecting it and then click Kill process. Then click yes.
    C:\Program Files\License_Manager\license_manager.exe

After killing all the above processes, click Back.
Then please click Scan and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [License Manager] "C:\Program Files\License_Manager\license_manager.exe " /silent

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete:
    C:\Program Files\License_Manager <-- the whole folder

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.
Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST).

Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now.

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

Thanks for the help. I believe this took care of it. Going to have a little chat with my dad explaining to him how he can keep his comptuer safe and avoid this all together!

Here's the Hijack file after I did everything instructed.
