I have installed a All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 video card which I can connect via composite video and left and right audio. It allows me to display on the TV what is also displayed on my monitor. However I have discoverd one problem. If I play a move on computer sound will go through the tv but no video appears. TV screen is blank. I've tried Media Palyer and Zoomplayer. Neither works.

Any ideas to what's happening here? (windows XP Pro)

    TIA

If you are using the RCA audio connectors on the graphics card, they are audio inputs. You must connect to the audio output jack on the back of the PC itself.

Perhaps I didn't explain my problem clearly. I have sound coming from the TV but no video when a movie is playing. I do have video for normal tasks, like a dual monitor system. The TV will display what I have on the monitor, just not when I'm running a movie. There are three RCA jacks on the rear of the video card. One is video and two are stereo outputs. There is also an S-Video available which I'm not using.

    OK, i misread.:-o

Does the window for your video player display on your TV screen?

Yes. All programs I've tried, Media Player, Zoomplayer, and ATI software packaged with the card display the window but no picture within. Just sound. Now I have not tried an S-Video cable but from what I read in the manual that shouldn't cause my problem. Just the quality will be affected using a composite connection (RCA cable).

Do you have it set up to mirror(ATI terminology: clone) your displays through ATI Catalyst Center or is your Windows desktop extended onto your TV. If you have cloning enabled, everything on your desktop will appear on your TV, including the icons and taskbar. If you just extended your desktop onto your TV screen, you will see the wallpaper but nothing else. If this is the case, drag the video window to your TV.

Must be set to clone because when I go through Control Panel>Display>Advanced it brings up the ATI Plug and Play Monitor window where it you can select the dual Monitor and TV option. The TV option is grayed out unless a TV is actually connected.

Oh, and yes everything on the monitor is displayed on the TV including the Icons and Task Bar.

Update on my ATI monitor/TV video problems.

Both amazing things and some not amazing have occured over the past couple weeks. My ATI video card is working fantastic in both monitor and Monitor/TV mode and can be toggled easily.
How I got there is not so nice and certainly not intended.

By accident, rather misfortune perhaps I acquired an mouse/usb adapter which plugs into the conventional mouse port on older computers. I did just that and plugged in a USB mouse. The computer crashed big time taking it back right to the bios. Long story short I ended up re-formating the hard drive and installing most of the programs, including the ATI video card. There were lots of reboots to get to this point but a few days later when I connected the TV, started the computer, low and behold, everything works fine. Movies are playing on both.

One thing I have noticed though and it is understandable. If I have dual monitor and TV running when the system is shut down, I must return to the same configuration on boot up or it will post the message: The system as recovered from a serious error. Quite frightening at first. Remember to shut down and restart in the same mode and it works just fine.

Can I explain what was wrong initially? Nope. Possibly a bad ATI software installation?

I'm not going back through this whole process to find out. lol Not after nearly two days of frustration getting back up and running.
